| United States Department of Transportation | DOT regulates the transportation of haxardous materials (which includes radioactive materials) in interstate commerce. DOT is rather liberal in its interpretation of interstate commerce -- so most intrastate commerce falls under DOT regulation. | 
| U.S. Department of Energy, Headquarters | Although not normally encountered by non-government radiation users, DOE has resources that can be useful for particularly circumstances -- such as research laboratories and waste disposal of certain problem radiation sources. |
